In the pool of people's names, my name Kei is often the shortest and simplest. "Not Just A Letter" emphasizes that my persona, in contrast to the letter "k" hinted by my name, is neither typical nor ordinary. There are exciting (and sometimes out of this world) twists and turns in who I am and what I do. I hope you follow my journey in illustrating myself using an electrifying medley of letters (and a keyboard) as my tool.

"Pocari Sweat???!" - matabang tao sa commercial

yey! i'm blogging again! staying loyal to my oath... weee... haha!
so what days did i miss?
thursday - no classes - nothing much happened at home... haha
friday - haha!! very fun day! went out with 2B people and watched Rush Hour 3! but before that...
morning - nothing much happened - it was fr. rodriguez' bday! so we had no classes in the morning (wahaha... commentary & 2 quizzes postponed). it was obvious that the preperations for fr. rector's bday wasn't as much as fr. mazana's... but, o well, we did our best. and then, sabayan practice with 2B people at the 1A place.. haha.. it was kind of disappointing that only almost half of the class came because nothing much happened. and we really need something to happen because we want to prove to someone that we can do good even without him/her (haha) belittling (tama ba?) our capabilities. and of course, to achieve the main goal - to get that trophy for the champions.. so 2B, let's work hard for this. haha... after the sabayan practice, i was put in a dilemma because i still didn't know if i would be going to go with the 2B people.. i was glad i decided to go.. haha... some people catched a ride with me to glorietta, and we met the others at food choices... i think the people present were romano, lisette, jo, jr, jonas, j9, gela, marc, guia, lance, earl and allan (L-haha)... i bought taro quickly (mmm...), tuna plato wrap (DIET?) , and jumbo BBQ fries in potato corner (grabe, haven't eaten fries in a long time - no more diet, haha)... we went to timezone for a bit, then off to taters to buy popcorn and to the movie itself - rush hour 3... HAHA....
so we were a little early for the movie, and a lot of commercials started to show, and this was where the fun began... there was this REALLY weird, senseless, but totally FUNNY one about water... i'm not sure if it was trying to sell itself because its name was POCARI SWEAT..... what?!? it's like...... ten thousands spoons and all you need is a knife - haha... out of the thousands of names you could give a water, why the hell name it with the words POCARI (ang laswa pakinggan, haha) and SWEAT (the last thing you'd want to think of when drinking water) haha... so i researched about it a bit, and this is what i found:
The reference to the bodily fluid resulting from perspiration in the name of the beverage tends to have a certain offputting or humorous connotation for native English speakers . However, the name was chosen by the manufacturers originally for the purpose of marketing the product as a sports drink in Japan, where people generally do not mentally translate names appearing in English and are therefore not bothered by the connotation. It was largely derived from the notion of what it is intended to supply to the drinker: all of the nutrients and electrolytes lost when sweating. (The first part of the name, Pocari, means "like a cloud floating in the sky" or "a situation in which a cloud is floating in the sky" in Japanese, and has a connotation of lightness, buoyancy, and ease. "Sweat" was apparently intended to suggest diligence and its fruits - the idea intending to connote to the user that Pocari Sweat works to make one feel fresh and relaxed. However, some Japanese apparently drop "Sweat" from the name in common usage.)
haha, so that's why! the Japanese couldn't understand the name, so nobody finds it funny there!... still, the commercial itself was really funny! haha...
moving on to the movie... IT WAS SO FUNNY! the funny lines kept on coming! haha i was expeting a movie with many "nakabagdamdaming" action scenes, so i wasn't that thrilled because i don't like action movies a lot... but the 1st scene proved me wrong.. COMEDY movies are my love (i didn't know rush hour 3 was supposed to be comedy - never watched the 1st 2 but planning to now)... and the movie was more comedy than it was action... haha... favorite scenes : French nun - haha, she was so damn funny! she looks a hell lot like Professor McGonagall a.k.a. Maggie Smith (and i thought she was until i read Jo's blog, haha); The one where the chinese girl was first shown - she looks a hell lot like Ka-eun, haha!; GENEVIEVE (haha kahit malaswa); fight scenes (the one in the hospital and in eiffel tower)... and all other scenes i can't remember! haha... it was really really HILARIOUS!
haay.. since im really tired, i'll cut this post. long story short - i went home after DQ.. and slept... haha.. BOW
